The West Gate of Angkor Thom is one of the five gateways into the ancient Khmer city of Angkor Thom. Surrounded by the forest, the West Gate is rarely visited by mainstream tourists. The locals use it because there is a path through the gate heading west, in the direction of the West Baray. Among tourists, only serious Angkor enthusiasts come here. Tuk tuk drivers are often reluctant to take visitors here, giving excuse that the road is too bumpy for their tyres.
