Nearby Airports to New York City

Apart from JFK, LaGuardia and Newark Liberty, there are also a few small airports which you can use to fly to New York City.

MacArthur Airport is a small airport in Islip on Long Island. It is served by Southwest Airlines. From MacArthur Airport, you can get to Penn Station in Manhattan.

Westchester County Airport is another small airport. It is located near White Plains, NY, and is served by several airlines. The airport is most convenient for going to Westchester County and adjacent areas of Connecticut, but it is also possible to use it to go to New York City. You can take the AirLink bus (fare $1.75) to the White Plains Metro-North station, and a Metro-North train to any of various points in the Bronx, or 125th St./Park Av. and Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. Trains to Grand Central ($6.25 off-peak and $8.50 peak for ordinary fares) run roughly every half hour for most of the day and take approximately 40 minutes.

Stewart International Airport is served by a number of airports and can be reached by rail from Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan by Metro North to Newburgh and then a shuttle.

New York City is also served by Teterboro Airport, in Teterboro, NJ, though this airport is used primarily for general aviation and receives no commercial flights.
