The Chapel of St James was built in 1740 at the Fortaleza da Barra (Barra Fort) at the tip of the peninsula. There is a statue of St James here, along with blue and white tiles depicting Our Lady of Fatima and Queen Isabel. St James is regarded as the military protector of Macau.
