CNN Center is a broadcasting center in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. It is the world headquarters for the Cable News Network. The CNN Center has newsrooms and studios for producing the news for CNN's news channels. CNN Center was constructed in 1976. At that time, it was known as the Omni International Complex. It originally offered office space for business tenants and consulates. There was a theater, a few restaurants and even an ice-skating rink. CNN relocated from Midtown Atlanta to occupy it in 1987. CNN's Headline News was the first channel to broadcast from it. CNN Center suffered some damage when a tornado passed through downtown Atlanta on 14 March, 2008. Today the CNN Center also houses an Omni Hotels franchise owned by Turner Broadcasting. Inside the building is the longest freestanding escalator in the world. How to reach CNN CenterCNN Center is located at Marietta Street.
