Dominica, not to be confused with Dominican Republic, is a small Caribbean Island nation, located half way between Puerto Rico and Trinidad and Tobago. It is renowned for its greenery as well as its natural sights.

  • Visit Scott's Head, a village at a bay that happens to be the lip of an ancient crater.
  • Go to the Morne Trois Pitons National Park, inscribed by Unesco as a World Heritage Site. This nature destination has many outstanding sights such as Boiling Lake, Freshwater Lake, Boeri Lake, Middleham Falls and Valley of Desolation
  • Go to Cabrits Historical Park, with its historical ruins of Fort Shirley and Fort George
  • Go whale and dolphin watching

    Money matters in Dominica

    The currency in Dominica is the East Caribbean Dollar (EC$). EC$1=100 cents. Banknotes are in denominations of EC$5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 while coins in denominations of 1¢, 2¢, 5¢, 10¢, 25¢, 50¢ and EC$1. Banking hours are from 8:00am to 3:00pm Mondays to Thursdays, and 8:00am - 5:00pm Fridays.
