Gibraltar is a British overseas territory at the southernmost tip of the Iberian Peninsula. It shares a border with Spain to the north. The name comes from the Arabic name Gibel Tariq, meaning Rock of Tariq, referring to the rock formation called the Rock of Gibraltar.
