Jimmy Carter Library & Museum is a library that houses the papers and other material of the Carter Administration, as well as the family of former President Jimmy Carter. The Jimmy Carter Library & Museum holds special exhibitions and showcases the Nobel Peace Prize received by Carter. It also has a full-scale replica of the Oval Office and the Resolute Desk, the 19th-century desk used by the presidents of the United States in the Oval Office. The Jimmy Carter Library & Museum is located in the Poncey-Highland neighborhood of Atlanta. It stands on land that was earlier earmarked for an interchange, but was cancelled by Carter as Governor of Georgia, in response to public opposition. How to reach the Jimmy Carter Library & MuseumTake the MARTA train to the Five Points train station. From the train station, take the 16 Noble bus to the library.If you are driving, take Interstate-75/85 to Exit 248C, Freedom Parkway. Then follow the signage to Carter Center. Parking is free. |
