Laguna Verde is a salt lake in the southwest of the altiplato of Bolivia. It is near the Chilean border at the foot of stratovolcano Licancabur. Located at a height of 4,300m (14,000 ft) above sea level, the barren landscape around Laguna Verde provides spectacular scenery. The colour of the lake is caused by sediments containing copper minerals. There are hot springs in the vicinity of Laguna Verde as well.
