Srah Srang is an ancient manmade reservoir in Angkor Archaeological Park, in Angkor, Cambodia. Built by the ancient Khmers, Srah Srang is located next to the Angkor ruins of Banteay Kdei. At day time, Srah Srang looks like just a big pool, but at sunrise, it takes on a multitude of hues as it greets the morning sun.

My wife and I arrived at Srah Srang in pitch darkness. We rode through the streets of Siem Reap when the whole town was still asleep. When we got there, there was already a handful of tourists waiting for the sunrise. They had their cameras aimed at the rising sun. With such a low light, I don't suppose they will get any fantastic shots. You need a good, steady tripod to get sharp photos like the ones below.
